Professor Suresh K. Aggarwal, of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). This brings the total number of Fellows in the MIE department to 10.

Dr. Aggarwal is a distinguished educator and researcher with an outstanding record of accomplishments in teaching, research, and service during the past 25 years. He has made major contributions in the areas of multiphase flows and combustion, with more than 90 peer-reviewed journal publications and 200 conference papers, and received the University of Illinois Scholar Award and the Faculty Research Award. His educational accomplishments include the mentoring of a large number of graduate students, establishment of an active international student exchange program, development of several video and online courses in Energy Engineering, and receiving the UIC Teaching recognition award.
