Reimagining personalities with mechatronics

Mechanical and industrial engineering students in Assistant Professor Pranav Bhounsule’s mechatronics course show off their final projects inspired by Disney animatronics. The course teaches students about sensors, actuators, programming, and design. For this final project, the students reimagined personalities by adding an audio track to a talking face, including the exaggerated movement of the eyes, eyebrows, and ears in response to an outside stimulus such as a sound, distance, or vision sensor.
