Speaker Bio: William E. Draper III is an accomplished engineer and industry leader with more than three decades of experience in global vehicle architecture and system design. As a former Chief Engineer at Ford Motor Company, he led international teams across the U.S., Germany, England, Brazil, Australia, and China, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in automotive engineering. He also served on Ford’s Technical Advisory Council, providing strategic insight at the highest levels of innovation.
Born in Chicago and raised in Tinley Park, Illinois, Draper received his bachelor of science in civil engineering from UIC in 1983. He returned to his alma mater for his master of science in mechanical engineering in 1989.
Currently, Draper is a product development consultant at Revology Cars LLC, bringing his expertise to the classic vehicle restomod business. His career began in structural engineering at Sargent & Lundy and in public works for Tinley Park, where he gained hands-on experience in infrastructure and design. Beyond engineering, Draper is a passionate musician, playing bass guitar in multiple rock bands, and an avid collector and restorer of classic cars and Lionel trains.
