Clinical Associate Professor Yeow Siow has been named a recipient of UIC’s 2024-2025 Teaching Recognition Program (TRP) Award.

The Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs award is given to faculty members who have documented their teaching excellence over the past three academic years.

“The rigorous application and selection process makes TRP an important validation of my teaching,” he said.

As a faculty member, Siow appreciates the endless opportunities to innovate in the classroom, which ensures he has a lifelong impact on student success.

“The ME and IE undergraduate programs are ABET accredited, and classes are relevant, useful, and fun,” Siow said.

Siow’s dedication to students has earned him several teaching and advising awards. His most recent award was in July 2024, when he received the Award for Excellence in Teaching, one of the most prestigious UIC teaching awards.

“Dr. Siow has been actively engaging in education research that has yielded many peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations. He stays informed, contributes to the literature, and practices evidence-based teaching and learning. Additionally, his service record in education is outstanding,” MIE Professor and Department Head Houshang Darabi said.
